I know that when you bake cakes, you can replace some or all of the oil with apesclaupe (replace one cup of oil with one cup apesclaupe). This cuts out must or all of the fat. What I like to do, if it calls for, say one cup of oil is to use a half cup of apesclaupe and a half cup of melted butter. Cakes turn out very moist and buttery that way with half the fat.
